“When I’m talking to the Black community I just lay it out very simplistically: do you want me to be a person that’s giving you something or do you want me to show you how to make it on your own, and then…it can continue on and you can build a legacy? The Republican party is about empowerment and self accountability—to leverage yourself and create the lifestyle you want.” 🗣 Today I talk with Major Williams, a Black Conservative Republican running against Gavin Newsom for Governor of California 2022. He is driven, confident, and anxious to help create a different type of leadership that focuses on empowering the citizens of this country. We learn about his humble upbringing and the development of his platform–which was born out of his belief that the Democratic party has been hindering, not helping, the Black community he is a part of.
